Josh loves to play in the oven drawer. He loves to put things inside of stuff, make a lot of noise (we keep out pot lids in there) , and climb. This really is the perfect place for him to play!

This is also after his first hair cut. :( It made me so sad. He went from a baby to a little boy within seconds. He is now definitely a blonde. I didn't realize that it was only the tuft on the top of his head that was brown. Either was he is stinkin cute!

Lizzie loves her Mickey Mouse couch that she got for Christmas. It turns out Josh loves it too. Lizzie was watching the Little Mermaid, and wanted brother to watch with her on her couch. So I put him next to her, and it was so cute I had to take some pictures!

Today, Lizzie fell asleep on the couch, so Josh and I were playing in her room, having a great time. My phone rang in the living room, so I left to get it. It was Joel on the phone so I talked to him for a minute. When I went back to find Josh, he was gone! I quickly looked in the closet and under the bed trying to find him. Finally I heard a little noise, and this is what I found.....

He had crawled into Lizzie's doll house and shut the door. When he saw me, he got upset, but I had to get pictures! hahaha! The door is the only way in and out, so I opened it and he came right out.

After we got back to playing, on the couch of course! :)

Okay, A quick post. Lizzie got a haircut today and I LOVE it!!!!! We went to Cookie Cutters, an it was amazing! She got to "drive" a car and watch Barbie princess all while getting her hair cut. Plus she walked away with a balloon, a sucker, and a candy cane cookie cutter. It was wonderful!

Family Home Evening

For Family Home Evening we learned about being children of God. We made these awesome crowns. When we told Lizzie we were going to learn about Heavenly Father and Jesus, she said "I don't want to go to Jesus, NO Way!" To her "going to Jesus" is going to church, and we had just done that the day before. LOL! Never a dull moment!

Happy Halloween Everyone! Lizzie LOVED every minute of the Halloween festivities. On Friday night Grandma Baker had a party. Lizzie loved doing the crafts and playing with Shelby and Bob. She even got to have a sleepover at Grandma's! On Halloween, we went down town to and trick-or-treated down Broadway. It was a ton of fun, then it was off to our ward trunk-or-treat, a quick stop at the mall, then we went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood with Shelby and Milan. Lizzie has such a good time she didn't want it to end. Here are some fun pictures!

On Saturday we went to International Day here in Rock Springs. Lizzie had a great time playing on the play ground, and making all of the fun things. This is her smiling so big and showing off her face painting.

Last night she hit her nose on the corner of the book shelf. I'm sure it hurt really bad, but no damage was done. Still she insisted that she needed a "bandy" on her nose.

Also Joshua was being a super cute happy boy last night. Enjoy!

The other night as we were getting ready for bed, we were reading out of My First Book of Mormon Stories.

Lizzie always has to find the story with Jesus in it. As she found it, she kept saying "Awe, I love MY Jesus" and started hugging the book. It made me realize how much children can be examples to their parents. How much does my Book of Mormon mean to me?

Do I love it enough to physically hug it. I'm I grateful enough for it and my Savior to publicly announce it? Am I strong enough to share what I know with my friends? I hope that I am, or can continue to strive to be. Children are amazing!

On a side note, they also have the ability to boost your ego at the perfect time. I'm sitting on the couch, feeling bad for myself, and thinking about the great task ahead of me... losing a lot of weight while taking care of too kids. As I was sitting there, Lizzie pulled out my wedding photo album. As she was looking at the pictures, she kept pointing to pictures of me and saying, "Princess Mommy." It made me feel so good that my daughter thought I looked like a princess, and also has totally motivated me to look like that again.

So there you go, in less then a week, my almost two-year-old has made me want to be better Spiritually and Physically. Children are amazing, all I can say, is "I love MY Lizzie!"

Introducing Joshua Grant Baker!

Born May 11, 2009 at 9:37 PM. 6 lbs. 11.9 oz. 20 inches. We had originally planned on calling him Grant, but right after he was born as the doctor laid him on my stomach to cut the cord, I just looked at him and knew that his name was Joshua Grant Baker, and that I would call him Joshua. I have thought about it since and he looks like a Grant and I could call him that, but I keep going back to that overwhelming feeling I had that his name is Joshua. So there you have it. These are pictures of our new son Joshua.....

After Joshua was born, he wouldn't stop crying :( His cries turned into kind of a grunt. The Nurses were concerned that he was having trouble breathing, so they took him to the NICU. There they did a chest x-ray and discovered that he had a pneumothorax also known as a collapsed lung. He spent the night in the NICU, so I had only seen him for a few minutes before they took him away. Joel and his parents were able to go and see him and took this picture with all the monitors and IV attached to my poor little boy :( I had to wait until my epidural wore off before I could make the journey to the NICU. I was able to go see him for the second time at 1:30 AM when my epidural wore off.

This was our third meeting at 10:30 AM. Notice that all of the monitors and feeding tube and IV are gone. The pediatrician came to our room about 8:30 AM and told us that he was going to have to stay in the NICU for a few days because in the second x-ray, it hadn't gotten any better. When we went for the 10:30 AM visit, Joel and his dad went in first (only two allowed in at the time) and gave him a blessing. Even though the xray wasn't any better, my little boy was out of the NICU and back in my room by 11:30 AM because he was doing so well. The next morning they did a third xray and it had cleared up completely.

When he was first born he would suck on his bottom lip. He doesn't do that so much now.

*Side Note* We have taught Lizzie to call my parents Grandma Karla and Papa Jim, because we didn't want her to get confused having a brother named Grant and a Grandma and Grandpa Grant. I guess now it really doesn't matter, but I doubt we can change it in her mind.

Lizzie wanted to give Joshua her toy bottle. She got a new doll when she came to the hospital. At first she wanted nothing to do with her little brother. She played with her Grandmas and avoided me and Joshua. She has since warmed up and loves her "baby broder" as she calls him. Any time he cries, she always is so concerned. She'll come up to me and say "baby broder sad." It's pretty cute. She however will not let me take her to go to sleep and sing our songs, she need daddy to do it now. It makes me kind of sad and I hope its just a phase. I'm sure it will pass soon.

The lady came to take the hospital picture just as we were all laying down for a nap. I had sent Joshua back to the Nursery and Lizzie was almost asleep, so she said she would come back the next day. Well she never showed up, so we kind of took our own.

I was so afraid to have two kids, but I'm loving every minute of it! Before I couldn't comprehend how I could love a new baby as much as I love Lizzie. It's amazing, it's just like the amount of love you are capable of, doubles. I love being a mom, and feel so blessed that I have two healthy children to love and teach everyday!

Food Storage!

I am so excited that we finally got our food storage organized! I have been buying it ever since we got into our house, but needed some good shelving for it. After searching everywhere, I finally found good sturdy shelving at IKEA ( I love Ikea!)!

As you can see, there is a whole section for bottles. We are buying our pop in 2-liters now so we can wash them out good and fill them with water. I love when you can sit down at the end of the day and feel like you accomplished more then you thought possible in one day!

I can not believe it. I just got back from the vet. They changed Chloe's bandages from having her dew claws removed, and guess what........ her front paw is infected. Seriously! I feel like a horrible parent having a little girl, and a puppy both with infected "fingers." Seriously! So now I have two different kinds of pink antibiotics in the fridge. I am marking them well, so we don't accidentally mix them up. Seriously! I'm about ready to give up. Seriously! I hope this all ends soon!

Poor Lizzie!

I feel bad because Lizzie cut her finger last Saturday with a razor. Well, I've cleaned it out everyday and tried to take good care of it, but to no avail. Last night I noticed she had a slight fever so I gave her some tylenol, and when I changed her bandage, she had a blister thing on the back side of her finger. She woke up this morning and still had a fever. I took her to the doctor and she has a staff infection. I feel so bad when she doesn't feel good. She has been pretty cuddly all day. I hope she will feel better soon.

Okay, now what has been going on. We found out on Feb. 19th that Joel needed to go to Mexico to work for two weeks, and that he was leaving on the 23rd. So we didn't have very much time to pack and plan. I decided to go down and stay with my parents in Utah.

Joel unfortunately missed his Niece, Carson's, Baptism. Lizzie, Chloe and I drove up to Pocatello to be there for that. I was fun to see most of Lizzie's Baker cousins. She always has a great time with them.

After that we went to Logan for a few days. We stayed with my sister Shauna. Lizzie loved playing with their dogs. We went and visited my Grandma.

After a stay in Logan, we stopped in Bountiful to visit my dad at the hospital. He had a total knee replacement earlier that day.

It worked out that I was able to help my dad with his recovery. Joel came home the Monday after my dad's surgery and was a huge help.

We stayed a third week, because my brother blessed his little girl, Elsie Sophia Grant.

Unfortunately on the way to the blessing we found out that Joel's oldest brother, Brett, was being life flighted from Rock Springs to University Hospital. It turned out that two weeks earlier he had a migraine that lasted for 4 days, and then started having major back pain, so he went to the chiropractor. Well, last Saturday morning Brett was at work and totally passed out. It ended up that he had a brain aneurism behind his Left eye. The back pain was from the blood that was draining down his spinal cord. They did brain surgery on Sunday, and all went well. He is still in intensive care and they are monitoring him closely. The doctors say that he is very lucky to be alive. We are praying for him constantly.

To add salt to the wound, Joel's sister who was down there to be with him, got her truck stolen from the hotel parking lot. This was hard for us, because we had emptied things out of our back seat into her truck, so that we could take home Joel's dad and niece. There was nothing in there that couldn't be replaced which we are very grateful for. Luckily, Joel's sister has good insurance.

Anyway, that has been our life for the last month. Kind of crazy, and a very glad to be home! I'm grateful for all of our blessings and truly know that our Heavenly Father watches over us always! Until next time........

I just wanted to let everyone know that today is the most wonderful, handsome, smart, funny, hard working, and all around greatest guys Birthday! I'm talking about Joel of course! Unfortunately he has been sick for the past few day, and I'm sure he still isn't feeling well ( he's still sleeping). So today is a day of relaxation for him. I just want to wish him a Happy Birthday and tell him how much I love and adore him! One of his Birthday present he "received" yesterday, though he'll have to wait until May to "open" it. We found out that we are having a baby BOY! We are both pretty excited! I'm a little scared however. I have never taken care of a boy before, girls are all I know. But I'm sure this will be a great new adventure.

Doctor Visit!

So we had our Doctor visit last Friday, and were really hoping to find out the gender of our little baby. Well the doctor checked it out and said that there is definately something between the legs! But then she went on to say that at this stage sometimes girls tail bones grow out straight and then start to curve under. So we either saw a tail bone, or a little boy. It's still a little early to tell. We will have to wait until our Dec. 17th visit to find out. Stay tuned!

Baby Number Two!

I know some of you already know, but I thought I'd make the official announcement. I'm Pregnant! We are very excited to add another little one to our family. I'm due in May so I have a long way to go. This means our two kids will be a month shy of two years apart. I am pretty nervous to have two kids. I hope that Lizzie will love the new baby and not be too jealous. Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

The past month!

Well sorry that it has been a month since I last added anything. I'm kind of lame, and have been pretty busy. I guess it all started with us finishing a huge part of our yard. It is a big relief to have most of it done, but we still have a few little things we need to do before I feel like it really is finished.

Next, Joel found out that he had to go to North Dakota for a week for work. Well since I was doing a Lia Sophia party in Utah the day before he left, I just decided to stay down with my family for the week. I was so excited and had all of the huge plans to go and visit a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in a while, and spend quality time with my family. Well, I didn't get to do hardly anything, because I got sick with strep throat. I was so lucky that I was at my parents, because I was really sick. My dad was able to take time off work to help take care of me, but more importantly take care of Lizzie. I can't even say how much I appreciated it.

When Joel was done in North Dakota he came down and joined me at my parents. We had a great time watching conference. On Sunday we went to my brothers for the most amazing lunch. It was fun to spend time with family.

Then this last weekend, we had a great time with Joel's family. Joel was asked to baptize his niece, Shelby, on Saturday; and then on Sunday her little brother, Robert, was blessed. It was a great weekend.

Trip to Denver!

So last week we took a trip to Denver. Joel's sister Stacey came with us because we were selling her car to someone who was going to meet us there. Well, the guy stood us up, but the trip wasn't a waste because we were able to see our good friends James & Michelle Gardner, and their cute little Keegan. We had a great time visiting and catching up. We also picked up our cute little puppy, Chloe. She is pretty cute. Lizzie absolutely loves her! She chases her around the house and just laughs the entire time. they have a pretty good time together (atleast Lizzie does).

So this morning Joel called me as he was leaving the house. He told me I had to go and look out side to see what was on our huge rock pile. I was thinking that maybe a cat or a squirrel got up there, but to my surprise a ferret was sunbathing on the gravel. I couldn't believe it. I really wish I knew where my camera charger was so that I could have gotten a picture. I was debating on going and catching the little guy, because I assumed that he was someone's pet, but Joel told me that there are a lot of wild ferrets around here. Are you kidding me??????..... Only in Wyoming!

Sorry I'm a slacker!

So I have to admit that I started this blog, not think that people would really read it. So I was checking tonight and was shocked that I had comments! Thanks to those who left comments, it make me feel loved. Anyway, we have been super busy this last month. First of all at the end of July, we went to Yellowstone with my Bro Billy and his Lovey wife Emily. We had a great time there, and discovered many new things we had never seen. If anyone is planning a trip there, make sure you hike to the brink of the upper and the lower falls. It was one of the most amazing things I've seen. Absolutely beautiful! The brink of the lower falls- the picture does it no justice.

We took 4 days for this trip, and got home for about 3 hours and packed up and drove to Bear Lake for a get together with my immediate family. Joel's Grandmother has a cabin right on the lake, so we spend a lot of time there during the summer. It was really fun be able to spend time there with my family. We had such a great time, and made a "Big Grundle" of memories.(yeah, you had to be there).

We came home for a week and packed up and headed back for Joel's big big big family reunion. It is the Robbins reunion, so that is his Grandfather and his sibling and all their descendants. So it's big, really big. They have 5 cabins all in a row. Our cabin had over 90 people in it, so it was a little crowded. Lizzie had a hard time camping this time because of the bad weather, but it wasn't too bad. It was a fun time, and Lizzie won one of the raffled quilts, so that is a fun heirloom. Next we came home for 3 days, and Lizzie and I packed up and went to Logan for my family reunion. We went to Hyrum Dam and had a fun time. I stayed a few days with my sister and she had a Lia Sophia party for me. It was a fun time. And now we are home....... trying to get back into the swing of things. Oh also, I started reading the Twilight series the day that Breaking Dawn came out. I was glad that I waited, because the suspense of waiting for the next book was not there. I have finished them, and really liked them, but still want more! Joel is reading Breaking Dawn right now and is really into it. So all you guys out there that think it is just for girls, he'll tell you otherwise! Anyway, We are still working on our yard :( We have decided to do more then we originally planned, so it is taking a lot longer. I have to say that I wish we would have taken people's advice when they said to "buy a house with the yard already done". Really, if you don't have a house yet, take that advice! I beg you! It will save you so much time and money and sanity (which is the most important!) So I love you all, and promise that I will be better at this!

So this week we are going to start prepping our soil for the sod. We have decided to do it later in the afternoon when the house shades the front yard. I have to say that I'm not excited at all. We have put it off as long as we can, but now we really need to get it done. I guess I'm just focusing on how great it will be once it is done. Other then that, not much else is going on. So yeah wish us luck with our yard!

So I have decided to start a blog.... obviously. I'm not really into this yet, so bare with me. I will try and keep this updated with thing that me and my cute family are doing. My sweet little girl, Lizzie, is now one year old. I can't believe how fast time flies. I've learned to cherish the small moments, because they are the most special. A simple smile from her cute face can change your whole day. Joel is busy with work. I really appreciate all that he does for our family. I'm grateful that he works so hard so that I can be a stay-at-home mom. By the way, being a mom is the best job ever! I love it! I am also a Lia Sophia advisor.... that's a jewelry company. So if anyone is interested in hosting a party.... I have to give myself a plug! Anyway I hope y'all enjoy our blog!
